A 35 year old Nigerian has been arrested in Katsina State for allegedly attempted kidnap of two pupils. The suspect a commercial motorcyclist, is Abdulrashid Mohammed Unwalar Jangefe Quarters in the capital city of Katsina.
According to a statement by DSC Mohammed Adara spokesman for Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps NSCDC, the suspect was arrested by another agent who was on official duty at the time and serving at Katsina Family Support Program Primary and Secondary School when he tried to pickup the two pupils from the school.
The suspect was then intercepted by the father of the kids through the NSCDC officer. Abdara has since beckoned on the parents and staff of these schools to be on constant alert especially now tthat region is facing lots of security challenges. He also advised parents to pick their kids themselves.
“Some schools even use identity cards meant to identify who will be coming to claim or pick up the children,” DSC Abdara also suggested.
