A spokesman for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Emma Powerful has officially called for the suspension of the weekly sit-at-home which has been ordered by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the Supreme Leader of the movement himself. The announcement for the suspension was called on Saturday (today).
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has earlier called for the South East zone to observe a sit-at-home to protest his arrest and detention by the government of Rtd General Mohamadu Buhari in Nigeria.
On that order markets and shops are all closed for business on Mondays from 6 am until 6 pm.
But IPOB through their spokesman stated that it's suspending the protest order until Mazi Kanu's court date set for October 21. "The suspension of the sit-at-home... was as a result of a direct order from the supreme leader of this great movement (Mazi) Nnamdi Kanu through his lawyers," Powerful said in a statement.
"Our sit-at-home will in the meantime be observed on the date of our leader's court appearances."
