In his monthly newsletter on March 19, Governor Makinde stated that he and his PDP colleagues will not sit idly by as the democracy they have built over the past three decades is "trampled upon."
Makinde explained that regardless of their personal feelings or loyalty, the principles of democracy must be upheld. He expressed his gladness about the action being taken by the opposition party governors, declaring that "this is the time to take a stand for fairness, equity and justice.
