Renowned entrepreneur and Chairman of Cubana Group, Dr. Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has revealed plans to establish a tricycle assembly plant in Ebonyi State as part of his business expansion in the region.
The business mogul made the announcement on Tuesday following a meeting with Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, in Abakaliki. He commended the governor for fostering a peaceful and secure environment, alongside improved infrastructure, which he said makes the state an attractive investment hub.
“I applaud the governor for creating an enabling environment that supports business growth, positioning Ebonyi as a prime destination for investors,” Iyiegbu stated.
The proposed venture will focus on the assembly and sale of tricycles, with Iyiegbu expressing optimism about Ebonyi’s potential for economic development. He also highlighted his partnership with a key stakeholder from the state and reiterated his commitment to supporting job creation through industrialization and agro-business initiatives.
Assuring swift progress, the entrepreneur noted that groundwork for the project is already in motion, with significant developments expected in the coming months.
This move marks another milestone in Obi Cubana’s growing business empire, further boosting industrialization efforts in Nigeria’s Southeast region.
